TENDER No(14/2018/2019) FRIDAY & BIRDS MARKET

This project was designed In collaboration with architect and designer Manuel Monteserín.

From the beginning of the project, we have been inspired by traditional markets and the idea of creating a great cover to represent this idea. How the tarpaulins protect from the sun and create a landscape. Based on this idea we sought to combine tradition and modernity, to create an iconic and modern image of the Friday market that dialogues with the environment and the culture of Kuwait.

The market will be a large air-conditioned space under the large roof where the stalls will be distributed. It will be easily accessible whether visitors come by car, on foot or by public transport

The Friday & Birds market has a variety of spots where any visitors will find their own place to spend a great time.

In the design of this market, we have tried to maintain the richness of traditional markets by combining various types of stalls, integrating these stalls with vegetation, restaurants and events areas, etc., so that the experience is as fun, rich and surprising as possible.

The most entertaining area in the market is Pet’s market. This area will amaze visitors of all ages.

The stalls design for each category of animals are organic shaped: oval, sphere, hourglass, which intergrades well with oasis.
